Working with Qualities

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your heart-felt and amazing sharings and summaries of working with the qualities of vulnerability, surrender and trust.

The next qualities we will work with are emotional maturity and stability.

Emotional Maturity is such an important quality for us as mentors and coaches, for we are leaders in everyday clothing as we walk alongside our clients. We must be able to respond to all situations as the adult that we are.

Over the next 3 weeks, when you find yourself reacting to something, stop and ask yourself, "What age am I being here?" Choose, in each situation and in each moment to respond as the adult, rather than that child who froze itself in a moment.

Stability is maintaining your aligned, centred space and operating with dignity and grace in the face of the things which have the potential to knock you off centre.

So, over the next 3 weeks, monitor your reactions and responses. Notice the moments when you feel inadequate, or like a little kid, or you dont know what to do. Notice who you reach out to and ask yourself what the intention behind the reaching out was. What age are you being? Simply acknowledge that you are now the adult and choose to respond as an adult.

Notice what knocks you off centre. Monitor what you do to try to regain control of the situation.

Remember to be kind to yourself we are all works in progress!!! You are on a fact finding mission here gaining greater awareness of your limiting patterns and how you can free yourself from them.

In the words of Shakespeare, Nothing in the world is good or bad, but thinking makes it so.

Have fun with this and please send me a summary of your findings by Friday 3rd April.

Much love

Belinda
